Julian Schenk (born 1994) is a musician and sound engineer based in Berlin. With a background in Instrumental Performance at Berlin University of the Arts (2016-2022, Jazz Institut Berlin) and Audio Communication at Technical University (since 2024). He works in fields of education, performance live and in the studio, recording, editing and mixing. In his work he is interested in finding an inner relationship with whatever instrument and technology is needed or available in the given situation. Be it a double bass, a 4 channel mixer or a computer.
By that he's staying connected to ordinary, everyday and ancient musical objects and still exploring the acoustical nuances and qualities for the days to come. Listeners are invited to explore the balance between musicianship and sound design, treating the sound and its components through an animistic ear, where every element is interconnected and actively participates in the creative expression as a living instrument.

Julian is currently working as a freelance artist in Berlin, independently or with groups within the city, including performances, lessons, recording. Since 2021 he is part of Make-Up a self organised space for artistic work and culture.
